At first, Grassley appears to be attempting to solve the case and catch Henry’s murderer, but in reality, he had been helping Martin del Gato smuggle emeralds through the animals, and had killed Henry himself in order to retrieve the emeralds sooner. He accused people simply because they either didn’t like animals, kids, or both. The reason I picked this theme for the story is the fact that throughout the story, Teddy judges and accuses other people of killing Henry the Hippo.
